Look at what Buttercup drew while we were watching a movie. Pretty darned cool, isn't it? Imagine what she'll be coming up with when she's actually trying. Did I mention she's 10?
I'd say you have a serious picasso in the making! :) I love the way she broke in into sections that are all different bits and pieces. There's some big talent packed into that... :)
I do doodle when I am bored, and sometimes even when I am not... but it never turns out that beautiful. She is super talented. (Puffed up chest) That's MY niece. So awesome all the way around!
It's a very good picture. I like how she combined all of the different elements, the watermelon, rainbow, cake, tree, etc. and how she arranged them. I also like all of the colors that she used.
If you had her psychoanalyzed you'd find a very happy well adjusted child there, but I don't think you'd find she was really all that bored. While she can compartmentalize different parts of her life, notice the smiling duck, the sunny sky, the rainbow. Those all represent the fact that she's happy. There aren't any negative images in her photo. Her puffy clouds are white, meaning they aren't storm clouds. Her cake has lots of tiers, indicating lots to celebrate in her life. Though the water is wavy, her boat is firmly seated meaning she is smoothly sailing.
So there she's a very talented happy ten year old child. But no, I don't have a degree, I just made all that up. LOL Though I suspect most of it is true.
I think the thing I like the best about her drawing is the absolute contentment she has while she is doing them. It is great when you can get to that carefree place.

Thanks, you guys. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought, "Wow!" when I saw that...
