Catching Up on Grace in Small Things...# 13-18

Some of you may have noticed, we fell behind on our daily Grace in Small Things.

Actually, I did. I think I like this new way of doing it more, so I may switch to a once a week posting of GIST. We'll see...

Anyway, here they are:

Buttercup finds grace in:
1. The fluffy fur on Biscuit.
2. Spokane
3. Blue Skies
4. Slippers
5. Water
6. Anti-itch cream

Valiant finds grace in:
1. The jacuzzi.
2. Books
3. Rain
4. Blankets
5. Cats
6. Napkins

Superman finds grace in:
1. Employment
2. Contentment
3. My Wife
4. My kids.
5. Spring
6. My workout buddy. (Guess who the Red Fox dumped me for?)

Charming finds grace in:
1. The opportunity to rearrange my room so my friends and I can hang out there
2. That people want to hang out with me.
(I have to get more from Charming...he's busy!)

I find grace in:
1. The first signs of spring...the little green shoots pushing their way through the soil.
2. The longer days.
3. My washing machine--seriously, imagine life without it.
4. Friends who keep in touch over long distances.
5. Bloggy support for personal challenges
6. Skype -- how cool is that?


We're still one day behind, but I think that is okay...

Grace in Small Things - #11

1. Butter and a warm tortilla.

2. Having a DS.

3. Not being stupid.

4. A warm jacuzzi on a freezing night.

5. My books - they're really cool and I learn so much from them.

3. Having access to technology to learn things.

Grace in Small Things - #9 (Tuesday - oops!)

1. Patience

2. Electricity

3. Sunlight reflecting off the new snow.

4. Finding your own footprints in the snow.

Grace in Small Things #8

1. Children being NICE to each other.

2. Sick Days

3. Viewing your friends through falling snow.

4. Flowers that a neighbor brought as they open up.

5. My wonderful old car.

Grace in Small Things - #8

1. The feathery feel of snow between my toes.

2. How well we work together.

3. The other people in my life.

4. The feeling of steam enveloping my face.

5. Fuzzy Slippers

Grace in Small Things - #7

1. How cute, soft, and funny Biscuit is.

2. Snowflakes that look like fairies frolicking in the backyard.

3. I'm thankful I was born with the ability to fix things.

4. The opportunity to fret over tests and essays.

5. That I get to go to Stage Combat class.

GIST #6

1. Finding out a friend drove to Target just to meet me, even though her other plans had changed and made the Target trip unnecessary.

2. Glad my recipe turned out on the first time.

3. The sunlight shining on the dust motes.

4. Biscuit - she makes me happy when I'm sad.

5. Jobs that pay better than McDonald's and are enjoyable to boot.

GIST #5

1. Playing "Simon Says" in Gymnastics.

2. Having a shared moment with Dad when we watched 2010.

3. Having a shared moment with Valiant when we watched 2010.

4. Getting news that my sister and her husband might visit sooner rather than later.

5. The dorks in my dorm.

Grace In Small Things #4

These are really starting to be interesting to me, as I see what my family members felt gratitude for each day.

1. Pretzels

2. Family

3. The sound of children's laughter accompanied by "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" from the Lion King.

4. Having a job.

5. A healthy body.

Grace In Small Things - #3

1. Having my own computer.

2. Waking up with energy this morning.

3. The smell of tuna.

4. Valiant's cheerful attitude.

5. The rain: how it smells, how it feels, and especially how it sounds.

Grace in Small Things #2

1. Rain

2. My room because it is beautiful.

3. Being alive and my family.

4. Barn Doors on the Suburban vs. a traditional tailgate.

5. Little things (and people) that remind me of how blessed I am to have so many things worthy of stressing over.

365 Days of Grace in Small Things...#1

Today is the first day that the Nagle5 will be participating in 365 Days of Grace in Small Things. The commitment is for us to post five things a day that we found blessing our lives. The idea is to recognize and be grateful for the little things that surround us and enrich our daily lives and are often overlooked in the hustle and bustle of this thing we call life. Since I believe sincere gratitude is the key to not being overwhelmed by the negativity of the times, this challenge was right up my alley.

The original intent is that the blogger herself/himself blog five things, but here at the Nagle5, we try to make things a little more complicated whenever we can. So, in an effort to encourage my children and Superman to remember to be grateful, I've solicited their participation. The five things we list each day will be one from each of us. I won't be identifying the source of each of the entries, but I assure you we will all participate. For now, here is the first for the Nagle5:

1. Books - I love the way they make me feel.

2. Legos - They make me think.

3. The dorks in my dorm and the people in my life who care enough about me to make a big deal out of my birthday.

4. The sounds of the birds "talking" to themselves.

5. Valiant making lunch for us all today.

P.S. Obviously, some days it will be easier than others to tell who is the author of the grace.
