Making Your Home Sing Monday...

Making your home sing Mondays
Well, after a long, crazy weekend during which I had NO time to get on the internet, let alone blog, we've finally arrived at Monday. Monday is the day we recommit ourselves to our homes and making home life joyful. It is the day we put the house back in order after the weekend's festivities. It is the day we refocus on our continuing tasks, assess our progress, and continue our baby steps towards our goals.

This week, our house will be singing, "High Hopes!" Just like the ant who diligently applies itself to task that seem insurmountable, we continue to apply ourselves towards the accomplishment of our stated goals. The trick is not to get discouraged when the week's progress doesn't go as planned. Just like the lady who said you have to try making 14 pies before getting competent at pies, we have to just keep at it without getting bogged down when things don't work out as planned.

So, the Nagle house will be singing along with the ant as we tackle rubber tree plants!

High Hopes

Writer(s): cahn/van heusen

Next time your found, with your chin on the ground
There a lot to be learned, so look around

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he’ll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can’t
Move a rubber tree plant

But he’s got high hopes, he’s got high hopes
He’s got high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time your gettin’ low
’stead of lettin’ go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant

When troubles call, and your back’s to the wall
There a lot to be learned, that wall could fall

Once there was a silly old ram
Thought he’d punch a hole in a dam
No one could make that ram, scram
He kept buttin’ that dam

’cause he had high hopes, he had high hopes
He had high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time your feelin’ bad
’stead of feelin’ sad
Just remember that ram
Oops there goes a billion kilowatt dam

All problems just a toy balloon
They’ll be bursted soon
They’re just bound to go pop
Oops there goes another problem kerplop

There must be something in the air today because Mom's post is about beating back discouragement and mine is about renewing my sense of ownership in my home and being diligent about up holding my end of the promises Fig and I have made to each other. All of these posts seem to have the same feeling to me, I even mention the 14 pies.

I agree with loveaphid, something in the air! Loved your post and now you've got me singing that song, hehehe!

I loved what you said about recommiting on Monday to making your home more joyful! I'm with ya, sister.

Mondays are always my day to take back control after the weekend, and I have "high hopes" too!

For some reason your link on Mr. Linky is linking to MY blog, instead of your blog. I'm going to delete the old link and put in a new one that links to your post page. Then I'll delete the old one and all will be well.

Thanks for posting today!

Erin, I have always loved your comments. They are always so wise and insightful and well thought out. I've often thought you should write a book. I'm serious. I'm not joking.

My post tomorrow is probably going to be a guest post from my twenty year old. He'll be talking about some of the very things you just commented on on my post.

Like you said, you can't see now (when they're little) what they'll be later. You just have to keep being consistent, prayerful, and keeping being prayerful.
